Portal of Doom - Lyrics

Hi, I'm Dr. Andersen's assistant - Reggie

Yesterday I made Quantum history

Well, Actually…..

I take pictures of Atoms using two lasers and Rubidium-85

I thought I could do it alone at my home

But victory was not so…..sweet

Just like in the lab that day

Lasers of players from e-bay

There's a fricken' black hole in the room

Black Portal of Doom - yeah

Creepy evil things

Crawling next me

Guess it wasn't so

So, so, so --  so easy

What was different?

What was different in the lab?

What was different?

What do you think?

Why can't things go smoothly?

Were the lasers wrong?

A Black Portal of Doom?  CERN already did that

I wonder if I've started……doomsday?

There's a fricken' black hole in the room

Black Portal of Doom - yeah

Creepy evil things

Crawling next me

Guess it wasn't so

So, so, so --  so easy

There's a fricken' black hole in the room

Black Portal of Doom - yeah

Creepy evil things

Crawling next me

Guess it wasn't so

So, so, so --  so easy

I got the idea from this song when I heard an NPR broadcast about a physicist, Mikkel Andersen, photographing Atoms.  (Read or Listen to that here).

Andersen used 2 lasers from cd players, Rubidium-85, and camera used for taking pictures of deep space.

I am shadowing in a songwriting competition and the current round asked for a song written about an unknown character from history, and what connection they had to a major historical event (fictionalization ok).  Naturally, I thought of the NPR broadcast I heard and came up with a back story.
